The relatives and many friends of Mrs. Eustache Gautreau of Pré-d'en-Haut, N.B., were shocked to learn of her sudden passing at her home at the age of 75 years. She was born at Memramcook, a daughter of the late Norris (Narcisse) Cormier and Anne Gautreau.

In religion she was a devout Roman Catholic and she always took great interest in her church. She was also a member of the St. Anne Society. Mrs. Gautreau was well known in Moncton where she kept a rooming house for over 25 years. Mr. and Mrs. Gautreau were to celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary this winter.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Eddie and Ernest of Pré-d'en-Haut; one daughter (Verna), Mrs. Emery Thibodeau, who was on her way to Montreal when she received the sad news. Mr. and Mrs. Thibodeau left Montreal by air in time to arrive home for the funeral. She is also survived by one adopted daughter (Bella), Mrs. Aimée Gauvin, of Moncton.

The funeral was held from her residence to St. Thomas Church in St. Joseph, N.B., where requiem high mass was sung by Father Massé, assisted by Father Gaudet and Father Fergusson. Pallbearers were six of her nephews, Armand, Clément, Gérard, Léandre, Ulysse and Francis Gautreau.

Among those from outside points were Mrs. René Bourgeois, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Landry, Springfield, Mass., Mrs. Bertie Fairweather, Mrs. Blair Babineau, Mrs. Arthur Babineau, Mrs. Camille Cormier of Moncton, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Landry, Mrs. Pat Bourgeois, Willie LeBlanc and Norris LeBlanc, Memramcook, Mrs. Resimond LeBlanc. of Dover.
